He has been in practice locally for nearly 20 years and has a variety of skills spanning multiple specialties useful in providing the best care for you in a primary care setting. Although PA’s do not require specific specialty-based certifications to practice primary care, Brian is NCCPA Board Certified and is fully SC DHEC and DEA compliant.

At Atlantic Coast Adult Medicine, Brian and his medical team are able to offer a variety of primary care services including:

Physical Exams

A physical exam assesses your general well-being. It presents an opportunity to ask Brian questions or to discuss unusual symptoms relating to possible disease states from which you may be suffering. It is important to arrange for regular follow-up visits regarding the management of chronic disease states. We also stress the importance of scheduling at least a yearly physical even if you feel healthy.

Laboratory Testing

Lab testing analyzes samples of your bodily fluids such as blood, urine, or saliva. Lab tests can be useful to identify potentially serious health problems including high cholesterol, nutritional deficiencies, and possible hormone disorders.

Imaging

Diagnostic imaging uses technology in order to capture pictures of your bones and/or soft tissues. X-rays are just some of the useful variations of imaging that can be easily ordered and/or used to assist in the diagnosis of a multitude of potential disease processes of orthopedic, rheumatologic, or neurologic origin. If further imaging is appropriate, Brian can also order a DEXA scan, Bone scan, MRI or CT scan based on your individual needs in the evaluation of your condition.

Prescription Medication

Our medical team is able to evaluate what treatment may be right for you using medication, medical supplements, or other forms of treatment or assistance when necessary. If acute or chronic medicine therapy is appropriate, Brian and his staff will be happy to assist you with a prescription and are willing to monitor you for potential side effects or other potential problems. Regular follow-up is indicated so that we may ensure adequate progress and management of your disease process.

Preventive Screenings

As you age, you also become more susceptible to certain health concerns. Common screenings include colonoscopy, Cologuard, mammography, and digital rectal exam (DRE). We can also make recommendations on appropriate timing for vaccines, X-rays, and possible referrals for a variety of other necessary testing/evaluations as needed.

As you get older, you become more susceptible to chronic conditions, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart disease. Regular adult medicine checkups can catch these and other issues early on when they’re easiest to treat. At Atlantic Coast Spine & Pain Center, R. Blake Kline, MD, provides a comprehensive suite of adult medicine services, including physicals, lab tests, and preventive screenings. What services does adult medicine provide?

At Atlantic Coast Spine &  Pain Center, Dr. Kline offers a variety of adult medicine services, including:

Physical exams

A physical exam assesses your general well-being. It presents an opportunity to ask Dr. Kline questions or discuss unusual symptoms. Even if you feel healthy, it’s important to schedule a physical exam at least once a year.

Laboratory testing

Laboratory testing analyzes samples of your bodily fluids, like blood, urine, or saliva. Lab tests can identify potentially serious health problems, including high cholesterol, nutritional deficiencies, and hormonal imbalances.

Diagnostic imaging

Diagnostic imaging uses cutting-edge technology to capture photos of your hard and soft tissues. Imaging procedures, like X-rays, an MRI, or a CT scan can help Dr. Kline diagnose arthritic joints, fractures, or a ruptured tendon.

Prescription medication

If you have an acute or chronic condition that requires medication, Dr. Kline can write you a prescription. When you run out, Dr. Kline can supply you with a refill.

Preventive screenings

As you age, you also become more susceptible to certain health problems. Preventive screenings work to catch potentially serious issues early on when they’re first developing. Common preventive screenings include pelvic exams, breast exams, and digital rectal exams (DRE).

Dr. Kline can make recommendations for preventive screening, based on your age and medical history.
